Owen brings a team-oriented approach to complex steel construction projects. From preliminary budgeting through post-award engineering and design assistance, Owen works closely with the owner, the design team, and the construction manager to think creatively, identify options, and develop a comprehensive procurement, fabrication and erection plan for the Structural Steel.

Project Management

Owen Steel offers a full-service steel contract management program, with a seasoned group of professionals in every department. Even with the best up-front planning, an experienced contractor is always anticipating and reacting to the challenges of real-world construction problems. And no one guides a project through those challenges like the Owen Steel team.

Project Engineering

Getting a project from design to fabrication is a critical part of every steel job, and Owen Steel provides a full in-house staff of senior project and connection engineers to manage that process. The Engineering departments have many years experience coordinating large projects and designing connections of all types. Our designers are licensed Professional Engineers, registered in the states where we work.

Fabrication

The Owen Steel fabrication plant is among the largest in the United States, sitting on 26 acres of real estate, with approximately 440,000 square feet under cranes. With both rail and interstate highway access, Owen has the capacity to handle large shipments directly from steel mills, fabricate steel to suit each project schedule, and store fabricated steel until it is needed at the jobsite. The Owen Steel workforce has the talent, experience and equipment to handle everything from simple beam-and-column work to complex nodes and heavy girders.

Owen Steel provides a comprehensive Quality Management System, from sale through delivery, to ensure full compliance with all contract documents and the fabrication standards established by the American Institute of Steel Construction.
